This exerciser works the Abs better than any other abdominal exerciser because you don't bend at the waist on the lean out and return which does not allow your upper leg muscles to help out causing the abs to work harder. Since the pivot is the ball of your feet rather than your knees approximately an additional 2 foot of leverage resistance is acquired. Also, the exerciser allows more arm pull back movement engaging more abdominal contraction than the traditional Ab Wheel exercise; plus the standing Ab Crunch that we suggest to finalize the movement engages the entire Abdominal Muscles all the way down into the pelvis region.

Important Note:
It is unnecessary to change the handle position to the side (as pictured) to do Obliques Lean exercises(check out the Obliques Lean video by clicking the link at the low portion of this page).

Try the waist bend out exercise for lower abs which is a great substitute for hanging ab sling and vertical knee raise exercises. Also, be sure to finalize the Abdominal Lean Exercise by hunching your upper back down with a standing crunch which if done correctly can be felt all the way down into the pelvis region of the lower abs. Beginners, elderly, and people with arm or shoulder problems do not have to lift their arms up and out, they my choose to just do the leaning standing crunch. Same with the Obliques Exercise; try the Lean Obliques Crunch (some ladies may have a problem with extending their arms up and out because it requires a lot of shoulder strength to do it).
